Dear Parents,
Welcome to Week 3! A friendly reminder to please read the newsletter carefully each week, as it contains all the important dates and details you need to keep informed about school events and activities.
On Monday, we were delighted to welcome our 2026 Kindergarten students for their first full orientation day. It was wonderful to see their excitement and curiosity as they begin life at St Mary’s.
This Friday, we celebrate World Teachers’ Day. A special opportunity to acknowledge the dedication, passion, and care our teachers bring to their work every day. We are incredibly grateful for the positive impact they have on our students and school community.
It is with sadness that we share the passing of Colleen Thomas, who worked in our front office for many years. Colleen was a lovely and highly organised member of the St Mary’s team who made a lasting impact during her time here. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
A gentle reminder to please drive slowly and carefully when exiting the Church Street carpark. Visibility can be limited, and we want to ensure the safety of all our students especially our little ones who may be nearby. Thank you for helping keep our school community safe.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
As always, my door is open.
Principal
Damian Collins

This week at St Mary’s our focus value will be Respect. Respect is when we treat others as we would like to be treated because everyone is special, when we do not exclude others for any reason and when we listen to other people’s experience of life so that we can understand and care for them better.

Term 4 Class Mass
All Saints Mass will be held on Thursday instead of Friday, to accommodate the funeral service for Colleen Thomas. We appreciate your understanding as we honour Colleen’s memory and her contribution to our school community.

The St Mary’s Yearbook is Back!
We’re excited to announce that the St Mary’s Yearbook is making a return! It’s been many years since our last edition, and we’re looking forward to making this a special annual tradition.
The yearbook will be available by order only, with each copy priced at $25. A Compass event will be sent out in the coming weeks so you can place your order for your family and/or extended family.
The yearbook will be available in the first few weeks of Term 1, 2026, and will feature photos, stories, end-of-year celebrations, and more—a wonderful keepsake to remember 2025.
If your child is currently holding a perpetual trophy from last year, we kindly ask that it be returned to the school office at your earliest convenience.
