Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome to Week 7. A quieter week at St Mary’s with lots of fun and learning. I trust everyone in the St Mary’s community enjoyed the long weekend and are ready for the last four weeks of term.

Last week we held our annual book character parade. This was a fabulous day and was definitely a highlight of the year for both students and staff. A special thank you to Emma Speedy for organising the parade that all students participated in so enthusiastically. Also, a massive thank you to all the parents and grand parents who joined us for the parade, open classrooms and the book fair. The book fair, generated sales of around $2000. This is an amazing effort for such a small community.

A special welcome to the Hutchins family (Jemima in Kinder Kind, Tully in 2 Mercy and Ridley in 4 Trust) who began today. We welcome you to the St Mary’s community and trust you will enjoy your time with us.

As you would be aware our 2026 kindergarten information and tour will be held on Thursday the 26^th of June. If you are aware of anyone interested in enrolling their child at St Mary’s in 2026, please let them know to attend!!!

Sunday was the third preparation Mass for students receiving the Sacrament of First Communion. We continue to pray for our students at St Mary’s who are preparing to receive this important Sacrament.

This week at St Mary’s our focus value will be on showing gratitude. Gratitude means that you are thankful to God and others for the good things in your life and look for the good side in every situation. You say thank you to people when they help you and don’t take your friends, parents or teachers for granted.

MacKillop Cross Country

Good Luck to Indi and Meila Fair who are representing the Canberra Goulburn Cross Country team at MacKillop Cross Country at the Sydney Equestrian Centre tomorrow.

Canberra Goulburn Rugby Union Trials

Congratulations to Ricky Smith and George Weir who have been selected in the Canberra Goulburn Rugby Union team. The will play at the MacKillop Trials in Forbes on Sunday 29th and Monday 30th June.

Canberra Goulburn Archdiocese Trials

If your Year 5/6 child has the ability to compete at a representative level in the following sports - Netball, Football (Soccer), Softball, Touch Football and Rugby Union - you are able to nominate them for the Archdiocesan trials.

Please note that the Archdicocesan representative sport trials are highly competitve and there is an expectation that children nominating for these trials have extensive experience in the sport and currently compete at a high level.

St Mary's Book Parade

What a fantastic day we had last Friday for out annual Book Fair and Costume Parade. All the kids looked fabulous in their favourite character costumes! An extra special thank you goes to Mrs Speedy for organising such an amazing day for the students.

We are welcoming new enrolments for the 2026 school year.

Please enrol online before 26th September however late enrolments are always accepted, at our website with the link below - https://smwms.nsw.edu.au/enrolment

If you require further information please call the school office.

We are now in our second week of winter uniforms. Please ensure all students have a school tie (available from the front office for $16 - tie your own or elastic) and that all jumpers and beanie are clearly labelled.
