A Message from our Assistant Principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
What an incredibly jam packed Week 9 we have had with lots of celebration! Our school motto is : ’Plant the seed, nurture the growth and celebrate the harvest’ and our focus over this last week has been celebrating the harvest in more ways than one! We have been celebrating learning and sporting achievements, school excursions for all classes, class performances and our Year 6 Graduation Dinner, just to name a few. Although the week has been extremely busy, it has been a reflection on what an amazing school community we have here at St Mary’s.
There will still be more celebrations next week as you can see outlined in this weeks newsletter and we will send our final newsletter out on Wednesday 16th of December.
Our 2021 Class teachers and class lists will also be finalised early next week.
Students will also receive their school reports on Monday which will celebrate their hard work and give them goals to set for next year.
We give thanks for so much to celebrate including the bumper harvest for our hardworking farming families who have endured significant hardship with drought in previous years.
Have an enjoyable weekend and see you all back here for our final week of school for 2020!
God Bless.
Mrs Scott
Teach us to be gentle and patient with ourselves.
Make us receptive to your timing in others.
Help us see the long view when we are caught in the frustration of waiting.
AMEN

This year's Speech Day looked very different to a normal year, because we were unable to invite our generous sponsors and special guests, and of course our wonderful families.
We were able to host a special morning for our Year 6 students and parents and present our major awards with the winners parents in attendance.
We would like to thank our sponsors, who supported our school even though they could not attend to present their generous awards on the day:
St Mary's Parish, Goldenfields Water, West Wyalong Lions Club, West Wyalong Rotary Club, West Wyalong Returned Services League, South West Slopes Credit Union, Commonwealth Bank, The Scott, Nicholson, Wungluck, Nowlan and Kennedy families.
Thank you to the West Wyalong Services & Citizens club for the use of the auditorium for rehearsals and performances.
Congratulations to our 2021 School Captains Amelia Alchin and Charlie Murdoch, shown here with our outgoing 2020 School Captains, Sam Koop (far right) and Scarlett Connellan (second left).

3/4 Griffith Excursion
Our 3/4 students participated in their school excursion to Griffith for the day on Tuesday. They started at the Griffith Pioneer Museum where they engaged in history talks, participated in an old fashioned school lesson, old fashioned games such as sack races and a train ride. From here they finished their excursion with indoor ten pin bowling.
A fantastic day was had by all! A big thank you to Mrs Akehurst, Mrs Harland and Miss Parker for their organisation of the day and supervision.
Year 6 Graduation Dinner
On Tuesday we celebrated our Year 6 Farewell dinner with Teachers, Parents and Students at the S & C Club.
It was a very special night to acknowledge these wonderful students and their journey over the last 7 years at St Mary’s.
The students were presented with their Yr 6 ‘muck up ‘ class photo and the students gifted the parents with their life stories. A fun night was had by all!
Next Tuesday we will finalise our Yr 6 farewells with a Graduation Mass.
A big thank you to the two Year 5/6 teachers Mrs Cuthbertson and Mrs McGee for their nurturing this year.
