Dear Parents,
Welcome to Week 4 at St Mary’s. We’re heading into another exciting week filled with fun, learning, and a touch of racing spirit!
We kindly remind families that morning supervision at St Mary’s begins at 8:30am. To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students, we ask that children do not arrive at school before this time, as staff are not available to supervise prior to 8:30am. We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a safe and structured environment for all.
Our Year 5 students will be presenting their School Captain Speeches on Monday, 2nd December at 9:00am. These speeches will be delivered to students from Years 2 to 6, offering a wonderful opportunity for our 2026 leaders to share their vision, values, and hopes for the future of St Mary’s. Parents and carers are warmly invited to attend and support our students as they take this important step in their education. Following the speeches, students in Years 2 to 6 will cast their votes to elect the 2026 School Captains.
Today brings the excitement of the Melbourne Cup! While we won’t be trackside at Flemington, students have the chance to learn about the history of the race and even take part in our whole school sweep. It’s a great way to connect classroom learning with a significant national event.
On Friday, St Mary’s students have been invited to a special meet and greet event featuring two NSW Women’s Rugby League players and a former Australian Diamonds netballer. The event will run from 9:30am to 12:30pm and will include skills sessions, games, and a Q&A with elite athletes. Students are asked to wear their sports uniform. The event will take place at Ron Crowe Oval and the indoor basketball courts, with students walking to and from the venue.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
As always, my door is open.
Principal
Damian Collins

This week at St Mary’s our focus value will be Responsibility - Responsibility means that you do the right thing, even when it’s not fun, cool, or noticed by anyone.
Responsibility and leadership often go hand in hand, and leaders must be not only organised but also prepared to take the blame if something goes wrong. It’s like being someone that God can count on! Responsibility is when we are reliable, when we think before we act and when we are willing to face the consequences of our actions.
A Prayer for Responsibility

The St Mary’s Yearbook is Back!
We’re excited to announce that the St Mary’s Yearbook is making a return! It’s been many years since our last edition, and we’re looking forward to making this a special annual tradition.
The yearbook will be available by order only, with each copy priced at $25. A Compass event will be sent out in the coming weeks so you can place your order for your family and/or extended family.
The yearbook will be available in the first few weeks of Term 1, 2026, and will feature photos, stories, end-of-year celebrations, and more—a wonderful keepsake to remember 2025.
If your child is currently holding a perpetual trophy from last year, we kindly ask that it be returned to the school office at your earliest convenience.
