School Satisfaction Survey 2023
PARENT SURVEY
We would like to invite you as parents/carers to complete the Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Partners in Learning survey. As we value the role of parents and carers within our school community we would greatly appreciate your feedback. The information you provide will be used to maintain our commitment to working together in partnership to further improve student learning and wellbeing at St Mary’s War Memorial School.
The survey is anonymous and will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. You are able to access the parent survey on your computer or mobile device by using the URL below:
STUDENT SURVEY
During the next three weeks, students in years 4, 5 and 6 will be given the opportunity and time to participate in this survey during regular school hours.
Students’ names cannot be linked to their responses which allows it to be completely anonymous. Results will show all student scores combined together – it is not possible to single out individual students in the results.
The survey takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. The survey measures include such topics as emotional and social well-being, physical health, and behaviours and attitudes linked to student success. The survey also allows students to give their thoughts and feedback in open-ended question responses.
Participation in the survey is entirely voluntary. Your child will not take part if either you or your child do not wish to.
If you do not want your child to take part in the survey, please contact the office.
If you would like more information, please contact Mr Nielsen.
Birthday Bucket Reminder
Birthday Buckets can be ordered on Qkr! until 10pm the day before the bucket is required. This ensures that enough stock is available to fulfill the birthday bucket.

National Sorry Week
Our Year 3 to 6 students attended the Bland Shire Sorry Day celebrations at Barnardo Park on Friday the 26th of May. Our students, under the fabulous guidance of Mrs Harland performed two songs. It was good for our students to participate in this event and learn about the importance of National Reconciliation Day.
Our Kinder, Year 1 and Year 2 students went to the TAFE on Monday the 29th of May and listened to Taylor Hampton read his story "Our Mob". This was followed by boomerang throwing at McAlister Oval.
It was wonderful to see our younger students have a fabulous time while learning about our indigenous culture.
Mortimer Shield Year 5/6
Our Year 5/6 boys and girls competed at the Mortimer Shield League and League Tag Gala Day last Wedneday in Young.
We fielded three teams, one boys tackle team and two girls League Tag teams. The structure of the competition changed into a development carnival in 2023. Our three teams combined played 13 games in all and the students developed their skills throughout the day and displayed great sportsmanship.
Thank you to Karl Tulloch, Will Dean and Jodie McDonell who coached the teams on the day. A special thank you to Jodie who also came to school and helped the students prepare for the event. St Mary's really appreciate their willingness to share imporant skills and knowledge with our students.
Well done to everyone involved.
