Dear Parents and Carers,
2022 will be another year of living with a worldwide pandemic. I would like to thank all our families for your patience and understanding of the COVID-19 restrictions that St Mary’s is operating under. We are expecting another delivery of the Rapid Antigen Tests in the coming days. Each student will receive 4 more tests for the next 2 weeks of school. The tests will go home in Schools bags this Thursday 10th February.
I would like to welcome our continuing families to another exciting school year and extend a special welcome to our new families for 2022. This year we invite the Browne, Caygill, Hart, Orr, Speedy, Otargui, Pathan, Paul/Kisokau and Tierney families into St Mary’s. I sincerely hope your experience with the school is positive and your children are engaged with their learning.
It is also with great joy that I welcome 22 new Kinder students to our school.
In Kinder Kind we have Anderson Blampied, Wyatt Braunberger, Max Brose, Owen Browne, Karlani Caygill, Seth Coburn, Elka Cuthbertson, River Greenwood, Nixon Hart, Maisie Maslin, Frederick Miles, Hugo Northfield, Noah Northfield, Arlie Orr, Alicia Otargui, John Patton, Stevie Smith, Amity Speedy, Hendirx Stewart, Lucy Weir and Reni Wendt.
St Mary’s also has new students in other classes starting for 2022. We welcome:
Zoe Otaegui and ZainKhan Pathan in Year 2 Mercy, Darcy Tierney in Year 3/4 Trust, Scarlette Orr in Year 3/4 Peace and Stephanie Paul in Year 5/6 Hope.
I look forward to getting to know you all and finding out about your story.
2022 also sees two teachers re-join our staff. I would like to welcome back Mrs Emma McGee (Year 1 Joy teacher) and Mrs Cuthbertson (Year 5/6 Faith teacher & REC) who both return from maternity leave.
I would like to offer an invitation to our entire school community to contact the school for any reason, either positive or negative. I am open to constructive feedback and no issue is too big or too small for St Mary's to be contacted about. I am looking forward to collaborating with the entire school community to ensure St Mary’s continues to provide the quality education service it is known for.
Kind Regards,
Phil Nielsen
Principal
Dear God,
Thank you for the gift of education in every form. As our students prepare to start a new year may confidence be their foundation, may grace be their guide and may hope be their compass toward a bright future. We pray they would have eyes to see the needs of those around them and a heart to love well. May they face each day with positivity knowing that no matter what comes their way, they do not have to face it alone.
Amen
