Dear Parents,
It has been wonderful to have all our students for an entire term, which sounds extremely unusual considering it is term 3 of a school year. 2020 will certainly go down as a year to remember, in particular the challenges that we have all been presented with. Our students and teachers have worked hard and I am sure everyone is looking forward to a well deserved break from the busyness of the school routine.
It is early days but term 4 looks to be opening up with restrictions slowly being lifted. St Mary’s will take every opportunity to engage with extra-curricula activities as options present. We are still looking for options for our Year 5/6 classes to participate in some form of excursion, our Year 6 graduation ceremonies are looking likely to take place as they normally have, an end of year play of some description is still on the table, intensive swimming lessons are in the works and we look forward to kinder orientation beginning in week 2.
I would like to thank the entire school community for your continued support of St Mary’s and look forward to a return to school on Tuesday 13 October.
Regards
Phil Nielsen
As we reflect on the term, we give thanks for the gifts of education, friendship and love. We ask God to look after us all over the holidays and may all of our community enjoy a restful break with their families and that everyone comes back safely and refreshed.
End of Term Prayer
We thank you Lord, for this term.
For the challenges, the successes, and the mistakes from which we have learnt.
Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends.
Give us strength and courage to do what is right: to be witnesses of our faith.
Help us to be a practical Christian these holidays, to appreciate what others do for us, to give time and effort to help others. To be peacemakers in our family.
Keep us safe in our activities; give us good rest and good fun. Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term.
we thank you for our classmates, teachers, parents And a community that cares for us.
May we always be conscious of you in our lives.
Amen
