A Message from our Principal
Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome to Week 8. A very holy and important week at St Mary’s. We have 24 of our Year 3 and 4 students preparing for the Sacrament of their First Eucharist. The Sacrament will be celebrated at St Mary’s Church at normal Sunday Mass at 9:30. The Sacrament will be celebrated on Sunday at St Mary’s Church at the normal Mass time of 9:30. The students have been preparing beautifully each Wednesday with parish secretary Louise Daniher, Father Hilary, Mrs Iverach, Mrs Manchur and Mrs Harland. Their preparation will culminate in a Retreat Day here at school in the hall on Thursday.
Earlier this term our Year 2 to 6 students engaged in Progressive Achievement Testing (PAT) in both reading and mathematics. These results are below. As you can see there is above average growth from all cohorts. Whilst you should see growth from year to year the amount of growth recorded from each cohort is quite pleasing and a testament to the hard work of our staff and students.
A reminder that you should not be dropping your child off, or parking your car to run them in, at the front of the school on England Street as this is a no stopping zone. I appreciate the fact that it may be quiet, however it is against the law!! Many thanks for your co-operation.
As you would be aware our 2026 kindergarten information and tour will be held on Thursday the 26th of June at 9:30. If you are aware of anyone interested in enrolling their child at St Mary’s in 2026, please let them know to attend!!!
Remember my door is always open.
